Saltwater fishing has always been free, but that’s going to change.
The federal government is expected to require registration for ocean fishing within two years.
Two Rhode Island lawmakers have proposed a $25 saltwater fishing license.
Fishing groups and the state Department of Environmental Management are opposed.
